This is a 10+ Star story and you will be so happy that you took the time to read this amazing story from Kimber, an incredible author that will have you holding your breath one minute and letting it out in an Awww or an Ohhh or a YAY the next. Please note that there are no spoilers in this review and only an overview of some of the action but just enough to give you a taste and that is all.I have been waiting with bated breath to read this story, that's how hooked I am on this series but by the way just so you know, I received an advance review copy from the author in exchange for an honest, open review but I would have laid down cash for it and I have (purchased it right after I read it).Could a wolf shifter get any hotter than Bas Lanier? I don't think so but all the wolves of the Wild Lake series are incredibly hot in their own way. Some are brash and bold, like Mal, some are sweet and kind (with a hurt or two inside) like Luke, some are thoughtful and possessive like Tucker but Bas is smart, logical, gentle but tough and ruthless (not to mention protective) when what belongs to him is in jeopardy and there are more hot wolves and more stories to come.Enter Abby Winslow, law student, smart (number 5 in her class), bad home life (as she says East Wild Lake trailer trash), and working in a congressman's office as the intern. She is assigned a conservation case to look at for the congressman to write legislation on a piece of land that is owned by the Wild Lake's wolf packs and the Congressman (Foster) and his henchman (and wolf) Dale Thorp are trying to get away from the WL packs. This installment is HOT! Bas and Abby are electric together and come together in an explosion of passion and power. I loved the scheme of the land bill mixed with the work that Abby has to do to understand all the moving parts of the bill and then to realize the effects that it will have on the WL packs and Pat and Harold Bonner (return characters from the other books). The action is fast paced and I had a few moments that I got really mad at Foster and Thorp for their scheming and then YAY moments of Abby and Bas and the wrangling that they did to undo things and set everything right again.Kimber did leave one piece of the puzzle undone in the end (what will happen to the land?) so that we would have something to think about and wait for as the next wolf steps up for the Kimber White treatment and I can hardly wait! Bravo Kimber!!!
