A very long time ago, I read a book by a very famous author that dealt with a similar story. That book was called "Pastoral". I'm not going to tell you the author because this story rates just as high in its field. Thoroughly enjoyable with the history and nuances of the era and the fears that went along with it. Also, I'm familiar with the area since residing in North Georgia, the history and locales are well known time.If you want a real good take on what happened in the USA in order to fight that war and how 'The Greatest Generation' responded, read this book. The interaction of family and the stresses they faced were all to real.A REALLY great job at telling one of the countless stories of the War. Thank you!
